Graduation pie

My younger son graduated from high school today - this is him in his Elvis-Vegas sunglasses, that the ushers tried to take away form him. His Dad came out from California on Thursday for the graduation and to hang out with the graduate, but he's been at a training week at the camp where he will work this summer, and did not get back until noon today, Sunday (graduation was at 4:00). I know it's his graduation; it's not about us, but we were all starting to feel kind of ditched. And his older brother, who had just spent 6 days in California visiting their Dad, has been doing double-duty entertaining his Dad since Thursday, the irony being that Dad actually came for his brother's graduation.

But the graduation ceremony was today, and the graduate opened presents, and we went out for Chinese, and tomorrow they're going to a baseball game, so it's all good.

And I baked 2 graduation pies, strawberry-rhubarb, and chocolate-peanut butter - even though we did not eat them tonight, they'll still be good tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that, and the day after that, and the day after that, and the day after that ... for at least a week.

Congrats for getting them both through! I'd graduate from high school again if I could have a piece of those pies ;-)

High School again that is high praise - thanks!
