Baking cookies in summer ...

... is just not as much fun as in the winter. The kitchen gets too hot, the dough gets too sticky to roll, and when you're done, there isn't any nice cool spot in the house for stashing your cookie trove till eating time.

I made jam cookies, with flower cut outs, instead of stars ('cuz it's for a girl's graduation party), Lora Brody's Rugelach, and chocolate crinkles, pretty much like this, but with 4 oz. melted unsweetened chocolate replacing cocoa, and I added chocolate chips.
