The ceremony was Saturday, in Centennial Hall, a theater inside the main branch of Milwaukee Public Library. It was as good and bad as those things always are; one good speaker, others less so, and it was all a little too long.
I got a lump in my throat when the president of the school had them move the tassels on their caps from left to right. And I almost cried when they played the recessional - the kids picked the perfect old Kinks song, "This time tomorrow". Even John's Dad approved.
