Sunday evening coming down

Can you tell I read the long bio of Kris Kristofferson in the new Rolling Stone, written by of all people, Ethan Hawke? (online RS just gives away this sidebar of 10 essential Kristofferson tunes, + a picture - it's not the whole article, but pretty cool, all in all)

Anyways, I served a brunch this a.m., and took narry a picture - I made biscuits with sausage gravy, using good Willow Creek sausage, fruit salad, fried potatoes and an orange cake. I used a recipe from Joy of Cooking for the gravy - simple as could be: sausage, flour, milk, salt & pepper and tabasco - so it has to be good sausage.

We're also in the midst of the WI Film fest - 2 movies Thursday; 3 Saturday, and 2 more tonight. One of the ones from last night was a 3-hour Bollywood extravaganza - Ghajini - Thriller a la Memento meets Monsoon wedding. I liked how one minute the main character, short term memory-loss guy, could look like a deranged killer, covered in tatoos, head shaved, clenched teeth, and the next he was the cleaned up and gorgeous male lead in a dance number. I also liked the parts where he was in the midst of a brawl or showdown, and had to consult his Polaroids to remember who he was fighting with. But I couldn't take it for three hours; Mark let me use the car to drive myself home at intermission, and he stayed around for another 1 1/2 hours of the movie.

Tonight it's a locally-made documentary on tractors, and then a dark comedy/documentary about a Filipino family whose family business is running a porn cinema.
