Despite the bro's sage advice that I get a better cat, instead, I went ahead and got the new lens, a fixed focal length lens, good for food photography, or really anything that's holding still. I went with the $100 one rather than $300; I feel that the extra money would have been wasted on a photographer of my talents. It's still much faster than the lens that the cat broke which is just the kit lens that came with the camera. I am going to take it to camera fixing place tomorrow; maybe they'll say to send to back to Canon.
I sure don't know how to use it yet, but I see potential.
On this one, the flash kicked in.
