We went to see the postponed-until-Sunday night fireworks. Instead of going to the park on the northside of town, and packing in with 150,000 people, or even going to the terrace of the student union, and packing in with some smaller number of thousands of people, we walked over, and watched from the lakeshore path, by the new UW Boathouse. We sat right where X marks the spot, and since we did not even take a blanket, when the fireworks were over, we just got up and were home in about 15 minutes.
Tonight I think we will go to some other fireworks, shot off from a park on the far west side, but I am not sure if we can find an equally good, alternative spot to watch from.
