Food & Wine magazine is going to have a food photography contest, where you can send in your food pictures and maybe win a Canon EOS Digital rebel XT, the digital SLR camera I have been coveting.
Of course I won't win, and the contest doesn't start until August 1, but I tried to take some suitably arty pictures today.
There was a bit in the magazine about it; they talked to Heidi from 101 cookbooks, and she cited the article in her blog.
Everyone stressed natural light, but I did not do so well with it:

No Flash
Although you can certainly see on the tabouli what Heidi means about flash making your food look sweaty.
Good thing I still have two weeks to play around - and it's not like I'm going to win anyways.
