Omigod - it is 50 degrees outside - this is January in the upper Midwest - what is seasonal eating for January, when the weather is like March? Last fall Nigel said:
Apples, leeks, sprout tops - anyone would think it was deepest winter, but we are still in the mildest November I have ever known. There are still good sweet raspberries and even blueberries in the market today, and I buy both, although I must say the corn cobs looked fit for nothing but cattle. It is so warm that if it wasn't raining I could be shopping in a T shirt. God alone knows what's happening to our climate. Perhaps Mr Bush and his mates who drive gas-guzzling SUV's can tell us.
Umm, yeah
